I use Evernote and absolutely love it. It’s an extremely powerful efficiency tool for one’s personal and professional life. Having the ability to access my notes across all platforms (whether it’s my laptop or my numerous cellular devices), I’ve everything I have to remember at your fingertips always. 1. Notebooks: In Evernote, Notebooks are like folders. I create notebooks to help me organize information. For example, I’ve notebooks called “Students,” “Blogging platforms 2.0 Tools,” “Apps,” “Tech Committee,” “Temporary,” etc. Some teachers may choose to create a notebook for every specific pupil if they want to create documents for parent conferences. 2. Notes: I create notes on anything I wish document or file inside a notebook.
I usually receive paper copies of student IEP’s and 504’s from my school. I favor to store them in Evernote so that I can easily seek out them without thumbing through stacks of papers. I can scan the paper utilizing a traditional scanner either, take a picture from it, or use a scanning app. I also prefer to scan or photograph student work to who parents during meetings. 3. Web Clippings: Anytime I come across an article, blog, or webpage I wish to read again, It is kept by me to Evernote.
Sure, Read It and Instapaper are great for this Later, but I like to keep all might work information in a single place, and Evernote suits the costs. 4. Save Emails from Outlook: Now whenever I obtain an email from a parent or student, I could click “Add to Evernote” from my Outlook desktop customer to export it.
If you have a notebook for a particular student, this is a great place to document it so that everything is in a single place. WHEN I choose “Increase Evernote,” a windowpane will pop-up, looking forward to me to designate a notebook and add tags. If I’m using my iPad, I can just forwards the e-mails to my Evernote email, and it’ll be filed under the notebook of my choosing.
This leads me to my next tip. 5. Send Emails to Evernote: Each Evernote accounts has a distinctive email, and sometimes I’ll stumble upon a website that provides me the option of emailing a web link or the page. This feature is especially convenient to have on the iPad where there’s no “Clip to Evernote” option.
Hint: on the iPad, if the web page allows, touch “Reader” so that the entire page will be delivered to your Evernote account. Otherwise, only the hyperlink will be emailed to you. 6. Students Submit Work Through Evernote: Students can also send their work to your account by using your unique Evernote email address.

First, set up notebooks for each class you show or name the notebook after a task. Then, when they send their work, keep these things use the notebook name in their subject title with the “@” mark. This way, their work goes right to that notebook. 1 for you. He shall complete the email such as this. This way, all the assignments will be grouped together, and the students’ work will maintain alphabetical order, too. 7. Take Pictures of Student Work: That is for if you want to bring examples of a student’s work to a parent conference.
I used to photocopy pupil work in the event I ever have to justify a grade, and now I don’t have to produce a trip to the copier or waste paper if I never finish up utilizing it. 8. Purchases: We all buy things for our classroom, whether at the online or store. This is a fabulous spot to store those orders or receipts confirmations.
For web purchases, I take advantage of my snipping tool to make a log of my confirmation page and fill it to my Evernote. 9. How-To Guides/User Manuals/Product Information: This is a great place to store that kind of information, especially if you need to know the model variety of something because you have to displace a missing or broken part. I also take pictures of the merchandise so that I can match it to an individual manual. 10. Special Assembly Schedules: At my school, over summer and winter we’ve various assemblies, and because the duration of the assemblies vary, we’ve a fresh timetable each and every time a meeting occurs always.
I will need a picture of the timetable (or publish an emailed duplicate of the plan) so that I never have to transport a sheet of paper around to see where I need to be and when. I also do the same whenever we have standardized screening in the springtime. Every day is different, whenever we are examining. These are just a few ways in which I take advantage of Evernote for my professional life. I also use Evernote in my personal life: for shopping, holiday planning, do-it-yourself projects, organizing kids activities…but that might be a completely new post.
